Contact
Drier
The
Rendertech Contact Drier (CD) is an indirect steam heated,
continuous drier for drying a variety of granular and fluid
materials including sticky and difficult to handle materials
including concentrate from evaporators. The drier consists of a
horizontal shaft carrying a number of steam heated hollow discs
that rotate in the product. Fitted to the edge of the discs are
agitator paddles to transport the material along the drier.
Materials
of construction are selected to suit the application and extensive
use of stainless steel is typical to ensure a long life. The CD is
simple to operate and maintain. The exhaust from the drier is
predominantly water vapour with a small amount of air. Volumes to
condense and deodorize are consequently small.
The
CD drier is available in a range of sizes from 20m2 to
over 400m2, providing evaporative capacities up to
12,000 kg/h depending on the product.
Applications
include bone/meatmeal, fishmeal, feathermeal, bloodmeal,
biosolids,
brewer’s grain. The drier is also used as a continuous cooker in
the Continuous Dry Rendering Process.

including wastewater sludges, biosolids, animal manure, bloodmeal,
feathermeal, brewers spent grain and various food ‘waste’
products.
The
drier can be selected to operate on a wide variety of fuels
including natural gas, liquid petroleum gas, landfill gas
(biogas), diesel, fuel oil, and heavy oil.
A
range of drier sizes in both single and triple pass configuration
can be supplied to ensure an economical drier for the application.
